■ Richey’s STORY

Richey is a Composer, Orchestrator, Music Editor and Sound Designer working in Film, TV, Games and Trailers.

he has worked across the whole music and audio pipeline for screen: writing full scores and additional music, orchestrating for other composers, cutting music to picture, designing sound, and handling the technical side that keeps a schedule intact.

He studied Electronic Music and Composition at the University of Hertfordshire, studying counterpoint, orchestration and twentieth century harmony, and sound design under the British composer Malcolm Clarke of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

After graduating he worked at Sample Clearance Services, based at Skint Records in Brighton, clearing music rights for artists including Fatboy Slim, DJ Shadow, Rouge Traders, Husky Rescue, Pepe Deluxe and Fat Man Scoop, which gave him an excellent insight into both the creative and business side of sample based music and licensing music into film and TV

He then went onto work in TV as a boom op, sound mixer, in-house composer and audio editor before becoming a freelance composer, orchestrator, Music editor and sound designer.

Sci-fi, cyberpunk, horror, thriller, action, crime, fantasy and dark ambient are where he is happiest writing. He works from the UK with teams anywhere around the world, holds UK and Polish passports, and is represented by DNA Music in London.
